The summit caldera of Ulysses Patera volcano provides an unusual backdrop for a visitor to this futuristic park. The slumped wall caused by a meteorite impact at the caldera's edge might make a negotiable ramp allowing sightseeing in the volcanic pit. Small impact craters, ejecta, lava flows and layered walls add to the unique view from the caldera floor. Ulysses Patera's summit pit is scarred on two sides by enormous impact craters.
